We can come up with a conclusion by identifying the pros and cons of each path and analyzing what we would be willing to sacrifice in our life to get a particular outcome.

Personal Growth:

This are just some of the many corporate pros that make us wonder if the whole 9 - 5 vs entrepreneurship is just a current trend
  • You have clear instructions that will lead you to a specific outcome if followed step by step
  • There is always help available if you need it
  • Each corporate employer usually has a ton of free training available to you as a resource
  • You have external motivation from your company’s mission, training, coworkers, supervisors etc.
  • Have no choice but to learn how to develop discipline & structure
  • You have an easier time to develop a network more quickly because you are constantly around other business people
  • It is easier to develop “people skills”, such as, how to work in teams, managing teams, avoiding or dealing with conflict etc

  • You have 401k, insurance & benefits
  • Stability of a set schedule
  • The security of always receiving a check
  • Office space that keeps work and personal life separate and decluttered
  • Free resources you can take advantage of that will make your job easier

9 – 5 vs entrepreneurship? Let’s take a look at the CORPORATE CONS:

Ever wondered "should i quit my 9 to 5?" ever thought about all the benefits that come with it before making that decision
  • You are at the grace and control of someone else
  • Your livelihood is in their hands will be sacrificed if it benefits the bottom line.
  • There is not much room for freedom when it comes to creativity and innovation
  • You don’t usually have much control over choosing your own hours
  • You more than likely need to “climb up the ladder” unless you have connections in top-level management. Therefore the pay will be limited/ capped regardless of your talent & value until further promotions.
  • You have to commute (most the time during traffic hours) and be presentable even if you are just sitting on a desktop all-day
  • You have goals assigned to you and no matter what you are responsible to achieve them. Sometimes it can threaten your position even if it is not related to you.
  • Your opinion isn’t always heard or welcome even though it is asked for. That could result in retaliation even if the feedback was appropriate and honest.
  • You risk trading happiness and fulfillment of your own vision

Ready to choose between 9 – 5 vs entrepreneurship yet? No?! Let’s take a look at entrepreneurship now…

Here are some of the pros and cons of entrepreneurship that make our decision between 9 - 5 vs entrepreneurship easier to make
  • The pursuit of your passion/ purpose
  • A deep sense of pride and fulfillment
  • Once you made it, you can have the power to make a difference and leave a legacy
  • You never get bored or stagnant because you have to find solutions, answers, and ways to make things work on your own
  • You have constant growth and progression in your life
  • There is full freedom for creativity and innovation
  • You have the flexibility to work from wherever, whenever
  • No commute unless you chose to have an office
  • You are not capped at a certain wage amount
  • you have full control of your decisions, successes, and failures

9 – 5 vs entrepreneurship? Let’s take a look at the ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONS:

  • You might have conflict and setbacks with both family and friends that could result in losing some of them from your daily lives.
  • It takes a strong mindset to have no support/believe in you or telling you to go back to a regular job
  • You have to work a lot more hours to make it all come together at first
  • No clear separation between work and life balance unless you make it a point to separate the two
  • The awkward stage of having no audience at first

  • It is extremely confusing to start something from scratch
  • It is overwhelming to do everything on your own in the beginning if you don’t have the resources to delegate and outsource work
  • There will be more work involved like for example you’ll have to do your own market research because it won’t be clearly defined for you like it is in the corporate world
  • Tracking yourself is a good way to keep you accountable because you don’t have someone that is telling you exactly how to improve and where
  • Learning to work with 3rd parties, managing the outsourcing, delivering a clear and concise message and vision of what is it you want and are trying to achieve to other people is also essential to your success
  • You get less in-person interaction with others in the beginning stages if you are running a business online so it might feel lonely at times if you are not used to it.

  • Unless you are well off or have a substantial amount of savings it will be hard to deal with life without receiving a check for a while until you start making $ again
  • You have to pay for your own training and resources
  • Have to develop discipline with finances because now the money you receive is not only directly for you, but also goes to be reinvested in your business such as different software, resources, outsourcing, insurance, layers for paperwork, paying your own taxes, etc
  • You have to somehow be okay with risks and be able to push through hard times

From going over the PROS and CONS of both paths we can safely determine that some of the key factors that are essential to success regardless of which is the road you choose to follow:

  1. Discipline
  2. Social skills
  3. Problem-solving
  4. Time management
  5. Love for what you do
  6. The ability to take corrective action if needed
  7. Creativity, growth, and a desire for progression
  8. Discipline to create boundaries for work-life balance
  9. Have a tolerance for risks and an open mind to improve the quality of your work when you fail
  10. Compassion to want to commit to contributing to a more meaningful mission

So, what do you think is the best choice for you between 9 – 5 vs entrepreneurship?

All in all, I think there is no right or wrong choice, you just need to do what feels best for you, but make sure that you make that decision on your own and not because someone is telling you to or because it is trendy at the moment to do something.

Another thing worth pointing out, is that fear of failure is something we all experience and go through when confronting change in our lives and it is normal to go through it, you just need to take calculated risks rather than impulsive.

So, what is YOUR decision? Let me know in the comments below and please share if you think of any other tips that might help others make this huge decision in their lives!

The Secrets to Become Successful

dream big and be yourself is the advice that successful people keep on repeating. Define your end goal and set up a plan.

Did you ever ask yourself how to become successful? What does success mean to you? How do you define it?

Here are some common patterns and traits of successful people, and a few recommendations on the best success books you can find to set up a plan for you!

So, without further ado, let’s go over the main things that highly successful people swear by.

1. Start by Defining your Goal & Dream Big

Success comes from first being able to define and know what your goals are and how you will be able to achieve them. Once you do that you can master a few core skills that will allow you to get to your end goal. If you skip this step, very likely the disorganization will overwhelm you and it will be harder to get what you want.

Make sure you niche down in your area of interest (if you want more concrete examples on how to pick a niche just click to get the free cheat sheet here) and set a smart goal (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound).

Niche Definition:

2. Fall in Love with the Process

Pick something you are passionate about because nothing will come easily unless you are ready to put in some major sweat equity to achieve your goals.

You need to learn to fall in love with the process and not just with the rewards. So, get on with it and start a list titled “what are you passionate about examples”, then start narrowing it down by process of elimination.

3. Persistence

When you are embarking on a new journey, you have to make sure you embrace and accept your reality; it is okay if you start with nothing, everyone starts somewhere, don’t let that hold you back from achieving your dreams.

Don’t let the fear of failure, or failure itself, discourage you; the reality of the matter is that you can’t always get what you want. There will be moments that are going to be hard, that you wish you did things differently but, guess what? Now you have an advantage compared to the person who hasn’t even tried because you know what NOT to do; therefore, you are one step closer to success.

I am not suggesting you do things mindlessly and just hoping for the best; I am a firm believer that if you want something so badly that it becomes an obsession and you believe in yourself without a doubt and without giving yourself an option to fail, you will eventually get what you want.

So, just keep calm, track your progress, take corrective action if needed, and learn from your mistakes.

4. Be Yourself

Be authentic and be yourself. Don’t be a copycat.

Being authentic and using your personality, charm, talent, and quirks in your favor are what make you unique. Your true self is something that cannot be taken away from you; it is something that will not exhaust you to upkeep, and it is something that people genuinely enjoy.

What if some people hate you? Great! I know this is unconventional but let me show you a different point of view. People are not all the same; we can’t all agree with one opinion and all love the same things. Can you imagine what a boring world that would be? We need different people, from different backgrounds and upbringings, to contribute to society by being interested in different things, having different opinions, and having different ways to look at situations.

Otherwise, how would we ever grow? If you have someone that hates your material that is fine because it means you are niched down enough to be able to attract your exact target market. The people who will love what you have to offer because they have their main need or concern so specifically addressed, they will become your best fans and consider you an expert in that market.

(if you want more concrete examples on how to pick a niche just click to get the free cheat sheet here)

5. Invest in Yourself

Invest in yourself, not only by putting your education first and continuing to have an open mindset when it comes to learning but also by choosing to put yourself first. No one is going to take as good care of you as you can do for yourself!

Among the most successful people the most common advice is:

  • define your goals
  • have an unwavering belief in your abilities to achieve what you are going after
  • wake up early in the morning so you have more hours in the day to work
  • learn time management
  • master prioritizing tasks to avoid burnout
  • and for the final step, do not forget to take care of your health and wellbeing by following a healthy diet and a workout routine.
Help others and be kind even when you reach a state to where you feel successful because that is when you will feel truly fulfilled.

These were the 5 tips that stood out the most when it comes to being successful and achieving all your dreams. If you want to hear more of these types of tips make sure to follow the blog and leave a comment to let me know your ideas, requests, and opinions.

The Anatomy of Marketing PART 1 – Jargon

Welcome to the anatomy of marketing – part 1, today I will explain all the most common “jargon” that marketers continue repeating over and over expecting you to understand what it means…

don’t worry, this blog post will explain every word

Ever jumped on your first call for a marketing consultation for your business and thought to yourself “WTH” are they talking about? Plain english anyone?!

Whether you are hiring a marketer and just want to understand what they mean when they tell you what your business needs or whether you want to learn how to DIY your own marketing strategy… I am your girl!

Many businesses lack a well defined marketing strategy when it comes to social media.

It’s not just about being present on all platforms, you have to be strategic about it and have a plan in place.

What is social media marketing or (SMM)?

curious about marketing? check out the other posts

Social media marketing is the way that marketers are able to;

  • target and reach key audiences that are relevant to your particular business
  • to increase brand awareness
  • more traffic
  • Increase brand loyalty
  • generate leads
  • improve sales overall.

All of these benefits come while you also get to simultaneously build a stronger relationship with your audience by creating fun and engaging content that relates to them.

What does all of this mean in plain English?

  • Brand awareness

Brand awareness just means that your business can be exposed to a wider audience, existing and new customers alike. It just makes your brand more recognizable and accessible, it gives it a chance to have a personality and share the messages you want to portray to more people.

  • Traffic→

When marketers say traffic they refer to the likes, comments, shares or reaction to your social media post. This is very important because when people engage with your post, it is very likely that it may lead to them clicking on your website and possibly convert/buy.

  • Brand Loyalty→

Brand loyalty is pretty self-explanatory. It just means that because of the activity, personality and brand voice on your social media, people become fans of your brand and therefore are loyal to it.

  • Marketplace insight→

Marketplace insights mean that brands are using social media to learn about their audience. It allows to get a step ahead of the competition if you know who your target market persona is. You also use this tool to monitor the comments that people say about your brand online.

  • Lead Generation→

Leads are just people who have shown interest in your company and/ or product and could become potential clients.

  • Thought Leadership→

By being a thought leader, it lets you establish credibility and you can position youself as an expert in your field. It is a very important factor of your SMM strategy, you want to be noticed by your target audience as an expert as provide them with up to date information about the newest trends in your industry.

Why should we know and care about SMM?

  • More Sales→

What we all want… right?! SMM allows you to improve your sales while not being too salesy and pushy.

  • Saves your time→

Even though it might seem like more work, SMM actually saves you a lot of time because it allows you to respond to customers, share content and get your message out there all online to many more people at once.

  • Less $$$ spent on marketing→

The cost for you to hire on a top talent marketer for social media is much lower than it would be if you were trying to get featured on multiple press and traditional print.

  • Stronger Customer Service→

You are able to directly interact and engage with your client real-time while on social media and that allows you to build a strong relationship with them.

Want more?!

Now you should have a better understanding of all the common terms used in marketing, in the next few days we will go over all the metrics and what they mean so that soon you can set up your own campaigns and get results!

My goal today is to make sure you feel completely confident in going forward with the decision to take your business a step forward in the right direction and set up a great social media marketing (SMM) strategy.

The following are the things that need to be taken into consideration before you set up your plan, here are the PROs and CONs of being on social media;

Justine Bieber owes his success to social media as this is how he was found

  • The platforms are free and have unlimited access
  • Improves the search engine ranking as well as website traffic
  • It makes your brand more visible because you have access to a larger audience
  • It’s easier to target and reach the specific audience that would be interested in your brand
  • It allows you to use analytics to measure immediately what works for you and what doesn’t.
  • Has higher conversion rates than what we have ever had access to through older marketing tactics
  • It is an opportunity for you to provide the best customer service as well as engage with your audience, therefore increasing your brand loyalty

BE CAUTIOUS: Even though social media is a crucial factor in your business, we also should be aware that there are some roadblocks involved.

It is very important for you to understand what these downsides are so that you can use this opportunity in its full potential by correcting the gaps at the start and really hone down on your strengths.

Knowledge is power, so if you can learn from others mistakes and use that as an advantage, the sky is the limit!

  1. Needs constant monitoring
  2. Prepare for negative feedback
  3. Lack of face-to-face human interaction
  4. Encourages unrealistic expectations for clients
  5. It can be difficult sometimes to measure the ROI
  6. You run the risk that the brand account could get hacked
  7. There could be inappropriate behavior on the site from the audience
  8. It is difficult to hire the best experts due to the lack of knowledge in SMM
  9. The brand image could get ruined almost instantly if something negative goes viral.

Today I wanted to tell you a bit about myself and why I am here since this is the beginning of a great friendship with you.

My name is Pamy, I was born and raised in Venice, Italy, and moved to Texas in 2009. I am so glad I was lucky enough to get the privilege to come to United States right in time before my career started.

We all know this is the land of opportunities and I definitely plan on not wasting even a moment before taking full advantage of it, and so should you.

The world is way too beautiful to be stuck in an office all day and never get to actually see it.

Now more than ever, the internet is providing the perfect platform for us to actually enjoy our life to the fullest and that is exactly what I plan on doing going forward.

I am here, writing this blog, because I want to share my journey with you as I go along. I have learned a whole lot that was not taught in school in the past few years and I feel that, if I had known all I know now at a younger age, I might have saved myself years of confusion and moved towards the right direction much faster.

With that being said, I am going to document my life and share the things I learned and the things I will learn with you, so that I can hopefully save you some time and trouble.

Even though I will do my best to always give you the most helpful tips and resources, I do encourage you and would love for you to get involved in sharing with others what your input is and what has helped you so far so that we can all grow together.

Ultimately my goal is to be able to help people that need guidance to put their best foot forward and join forces to improve society as a whole.

Internship Tips To STAND OUT Even If You Don’t Have Work Experience

Wondering how to interview with no experience? Here are some essential internship tips that will help you rack up the skills you need to outshine your competition! Position yourself as an asset to any potential company or client, even if you don’t have any previous work experience!

How to get the most out of an internship opportunity.

Internship Tip 1- Take Pride In Everything You Do:

The reason why it is so important to take ownership of where you are in your life is because it empowers you to actually take action and do something about it to change it!

focus on results rather than excuses and start implementing the following internship tips in order to laterland the job of your dreams

If you keep on “blaming” others or falling “victim” of the situation you are in, it somehow makes you feel excused to do nothing about it. You want to make sure you take pride in everything you do because even if you are not “employed” yet, higher-level management is looking and assessing whether you would be worth the future investment or not.

Dressing appropriately is also something you want to take pride in since that is something we are naturally judged on. (don’t get mad at me, I don’t make the rules, just stating facts!)

Improve Your Confidence!

Make sure to be level headed, calm, and ready to overcome any challenge that might be presented to you with eagerness to succeed.

If you do anything, being trustworthy and reliable is crucial to your success! Being honest, to me at least, is one of THE MOST important traits when trying to pick someone to join your team.

respect is something that is earned, mainly when part-taking in an internship you need to make sure you are always at your best performance

If someone is boasting and trying to constantly convince me of their value rather than showing me through their work, timeliness, and eagerness to learn, it not only concerns me on a productivity level, but it alerts me that there is something they are being dishonest about or trying to hide with all of the “fluff-talk”.

It is much more admirable to have someone that is honest and admits not knowing something yet but is willing to learn rather than having someone who promises the moon and underdelivers.

Internship Tip 2- Be Relevant:

  • Pick a relevant field to your future career when choosing to intern
  • Network with anyone and everyone you get a chance to talk to
  • When you are getting along and the relationship reaches its “peak” ask for a reference or letter of recommendation
  • Add them on Linkedin to grow your network and keep in touch professionally
  • Attend company events and parties. (To get the chance to meet and network with people that are normally out of reach or not in your department etc)
  • Shoot for the stars! If you have a great question or contribution to make, go to the CEO and introduce yourself. (Of course, this should not waste anyone’s time since you would have obviously taken the time to do your homework on the subject matter and was not something that could have been resolved or thought of otherwise, just be quick and bring value!)

Internship Tip 3- Be Curious & Take Advantage Of The Opportunity:

don't be afraid to ask questions! it is an internship afterall
  • Use these experiences to develop new skills that put you a step ahead of the competition
  • Be curious about how everything works and become an expert
  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions
  • Do extra work (you are trying to rack up as many skills as possible in your niche)
  • Always deliver more than it is asked of you (remember you are trying to add value and RESULTS on your resume)
  • Talk less and listen more! (you already know what you know, you need to find out what they know)
  • Write down in detail everything you learned that you retained important.
  • Make sure you are not afraid to ask for feedback and constructive criticism, it is NOT personal! (think of it as having the secret that others don’t to continuously improve yourself)
  • Be attentive to the dynamics of the place
  • Front line employees can have extremely valuable information about what they see working or not working. Ask them what they think could be improved, removed, or what they love
  • Ask if the company offers free courses or resources during your internship as most companies have them but don’t advertise it to employees enough
  • Feel free to ask others what they would have done differently when they started so that you can skip as many mistakes as possible
  • Ask if they offer any paid certifications, you want to try and earn certifications relevant to the path you want to pursue. (there are all kinds of certs available; like google, facebook or social media, project mgt, real estate, finance, cybersecurity, AI, IT, coding or whatever it is you are into)
  • Never stop learning! Try to attend seminars, events, listen to podcasts, watch webinars, read books and test your skills

Most Importantly …

Finally, just remember that you are extremely valuable to them as well, the end goal of an internship is to keep that intern as an employee. Turnover is not only expensive but it also creates gaps in employment which are never good when you are running a successful company. You already know what they want you to know and how they want you to do it, they molded you into their perfect candidate!!!

If You Get The Chance To Go To a Volunteer Event:

  • Network with other volunteers
  • Pick something relevant to your career interests or something dear to you which aligns with your values
  • Put yourself aside and help others
  • Be passionate, empathetic, timely and respectful
  • Be open-minded and take others’ opinions and ideas into consideration but try to still bring value. (find a solution that might be more efficient than what they currently have in place, be innovative!)
  • In many cases, this type of environment is usually pretty relaxed and disorganized so you can pitch in and really practice your leadership & inspirational skills to motivate others to accomplish their goals.

Never Stop Learning

Aside from these specific situations, you want to still take the initiative to do these things for yourself regardless of whether you are in an internship or not.

aside from the internship or the volunteering, makes sure to always make time for learning something new

Focus yourself on improving your knowledge by actually learning and I don’t mean just read it, move on, and forget it. Consider that human learning has two components:

  • 1) Understanding
  • 2) Remembering

Either of these by itself is not sufficient. The most brilliant and inspired teacher cannot “cause” you to learn. Only you can do that! You would do yourself a great favor by developing this “curiosity habit” as early on as you can.

How To Make Your Resume Stand Out From The Crowd

Tips To Write a Resume Worthy of Your Dream Job

If you rather see these blogs in video versions don’t forget to subscribe!

Today I am going to give you 5 amazing tips that college doesn’t usually tell you about that will take your resume to the next level and land you the job of your dreams! If you don’t have work experience, don’t worry, I got you, just mainly focus on your education, volunteering, languages you speak, achievements, etc while still following the tips I am about to share and make sure you follow the blog because the next one is for you!

Tip 1: The top of the resume is the most important

People that read thousands of resumes per day already know what are the key points to look for. Try to keep it as clear, clean, and easy to read as you can! The person reading your resume wants to know who you are, what you offer and where you are. You want to make sure to include professional email, phone number or a current way to contact you and if you have an optimized profile, you can also include the link to your LinkedIn account. Try to steer clear of using tables, fancy designs or repetition on your resume (they already know what a person in that position does and all the ways to call it)

Tip 2: Be honest, don’t hide anything and use chronological order to keep it simple

Since recruiters do this for a living, they get to see so many resumes that they already know how to pick up on little “white lies” or figure out if you are trying to hide something. It is in your convenience to just be honest and upfront about everything because it will be more appreciated as well as will show you are trustworthy. Try to focus on the results you provided in previous positions rather than just lists of the tasks you performed.

Tip 3: Don’t include an objective statement

This one I am guilty of myself! We always get told to add it, but in reality, the employer doesn’t necessarily care about the declaration of what you want to do in your life. They have a problem to resolve or an employment gap to fill and they want it fixed. They want to know what you bring to the table, what you can do for them or how you can benefit them. Focusing on your value and on how you can help them while making it relevant for that particular position you are applying for will benefit you a whole lot more than listing different random skills.

Tip 4: Don’t be boring

Don’t bore them to death with pages and pages of your life story, keep it short, simple, and to the point. Do something unique and ask yourself if you were the interviewer what would you be looking for to fill this position? What would be the perfect candidate?

Tip 5: Make it relevant

I have no idea why we haven’t been taught this in school because it is the most important step. More than likely it is a software that filters your resume before it even gets to a human being. So you need to use the keywords that the software is going by…(the keywords used in the job description.)

Each different job is trying to find the perfect candidate for them, this means that in order to have a better chance to be considered you want to tailor each resume with the job you are applying for. You can do that by including the keywords in the job description, especially the first few bullet points of it.

Extra tip: Have always a few resume or business card prints in case somebody asks for one.

Land the job of your dreams by following the tips you just read in this blog and take your resume to the next level! Make your resume stand out from the crowd!

You are the one who holds the key to your own success.

If you are not willing to take action yourself to accomplish your own goals than a life coach cannot do much to help you.

A life coach is perfect for helping people who already decided that they had enough and decided that they WANT to turn things around in their life.

You Have To Have It All Figured Out By A Certain Age

The main thing you need to get started with just needs to be in tune enough with yourself to be able to know what things in life give you meaning and happiness – this is different for everyone.

Stick to pursuing a path that feels right at this point in your life and that is aligned with your values and moral standards. The rest will unfold as you go.

You Have To Make Up Your Mind And Stick With It Forever

Sometimes obsessing over trying to find your life purpose can become the problem itself.

Don’t waste your time trying to neat pick every move you’ll make in the future. It will cause you to miss out on all of the current opportunities and chances in your life.

Say Goodbye To Your Fears & Take Action

Analyze The Situation

Start by asking yourself some S.M.A.R.T. questions.

Avoid Broad Questions Like:

  • What are you put on this earth to do?
  • Identify the “why” behind everything you do
  • What is your life purpose?

Instead, Ask Yourself:

  • What did you enjoy doing most of when you were a kid? Like 5 to 10 years old?
  • Which struggle or sacrifice are you willing to tolerate?
  • Are you ever so deeply interested in something that you forget to even eat because you get almost obsessive about it?
  • And finally, what do you want to want to accomplish or experience?

Let’s See What The Experts Have To Say About How To Find Your Life Purpose

On one of Adam Leipzig’s Ted Talks, he explains that you should be able to identify your “life purpose” just by answering the following 5 questions.

  • What do you love to do?
  • Is there something you able to teach others? What do you do?
  • Who do you do it for?
  • What do they want or need?
  • And how have they changed as a result?
These Tedtalks about how to find your life purpose by Terri Trespicio and Adam Leipzig might provide some clarity
Check Out These Ted Talks By Clicking On Their Names

While based on this Tedtalk, Terri Trespicio’s believes the following:

  • Find whatever feels right now and passion will come.
  • Don’t wait, just start doing

She explains that because we change our mind on our major multiple times, passion changes and that it is senseless to get anxious and over-analyze something that might not fit you a few years from now

And even though these are valid points of view, I felt I needed something more…

Let’s Take It A Step Further, So You Can Actually Find Out How To Find Your Life Purpose

Jack Canfield wrote a book called the success principles and it is through that book that I realized what my life life purpose was and I think it would help you too to figure out how to find your life purpose
I Love Reading Because It Allows You To Interpret The Message How You Receive It Best

My very FAVORITE way to look at things is the way Jack Canfield explained them in his book “The Success Principles”

I LOVE this book and recommend everyone to check it out

I believe the original idea he got Arnold M. Paton author of “The Journey” (which I have not read yet)

As he explains, we need to take 100% responsibility for our lives and what happens in them. There should be no room for excuses or complaints.

NO Excuses And NO Complains

You need to give up excuses and complaints once and for all if you want to succeed.

A good way to figure out how to find your life purpose is by eliminating all excuses and complaints and teaching your subconscious mind that there is a cost associated with complaining
Realize That Excuses & Complaints Have A Cost

Put $2 in a jar every time you “slip up” and make an excuse, not to punish yourself, but because you want to teach your subconscious that there is always a cost associated when taking that route.

Clear your mind, forgive yourself for the past, and be ready to celebrate your new awareness.

Un-initiated people will give up after the lows and plateaus in their journey but you are not like that.

Don’t give up and be patient because if you are, you will eventually breakthrough!

Remember that success will take patience, perseverance, time, and effort.

Ask yourself:

  • Which job do you love so much that you would do it for free but that you could still get paid for?
  • What do you want to accomplish? To experience?
  • What does success look like to you?

It could sound something like:

  • To inspire people through….
  • By empowering people to live their dreams through…
  • To facilitate people to…

Vague answers provide vague results

Post Graduation Depression & How To Prepare For Post Grad Life

If you are struggling with post graduation depression, you are in the right place! Today I am going to go over some awesome tips for post college graduates. They will help you figure out how to survive the real world and how to adjust to post grad life!

Finding jobs after college can take some time and it is totally normal. The averages to find a job is actually 6 months after graduation for my college

Post graduation depression is something most of us deal with in post grad life, we just need to learn how to survive in the real world by constantly practicing to be the best version of ourselves
Congratulations, You Did It!

The time it takes you to find a job has NOTHING to do with your worth and value. Make sure you push through this standstill and TAKE constant ACTION towards achieving your goals!

You graduated, it is super exciting, now what???

It is completely normal to feel scared and confused when going through such a major change in your life.

Tip 1: Reset Your Expectations & Bust the Myths To Avoid Falling in Post Graduation Depression

Post graduation depression usually happens because we have unrealistic expectations about what after grad life will be like so a good place to start is by re setting our expectations

After we graduate, society puts so much pressure on us to:

  • Having it all together & figured out
  • Not letting your family down
  • Making your parents’ investment of your schooling worth it
  • Having the best job
  • Being paid a certain amount
  • Starting a family
  • Getting married
  • Having children and more.

That is just NOT how it works for the most part… Sure, some people get luckier than others.

But there are many different ways that the right opportunity might come along:

  • For some people, it might seem like their path might have come along just at the right time
  • Or some have their path already carved for them by their parents
  • Some work harder than others to make it all happen
  • Some people will just wait and hope
  • Sometimes you will try everything but still struggle

…this is life…it’s normal.

Finding jobs after college is just something we do to add to our life whether it is a sense of meaning or purpose or whether it is for monetary gain but it is not our worth

Stop comparing yourself to other people, because, how is that helping you? Is it furthering you in your career? Is it making your life any easier? No?! so stop wasting time and energy on it

Whatever you decide to do with your life and career should be solely based on what feels right for you and only you.

Save yourself the trouble and don’t try to make someone else happy with your life choices. It will just create conflicts, hard feelings, resentment and unhappiness in the long run.

Remember you also shouldn’t just sit and wait for something to happen because literally NOTHING will magically get done on its own.

post graduation depression can make you feel in a very dark place and make you feel un worthy but you are so much more than that, just take small acts of courage and keep moving forward to a better future
Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway!

If after graduating you feel burnt out, don’t feel guilty if you decide to reward yourself by taking a break! Just make sure to avoid racking up even more debt because it will make your future even harder.

I know it can be scary to switch your entire world into something you are uncomfortable with and unsure of.

Learning how to just feel the fear and doing it anyway, is the secret to being successful and grow at a rapid rate in life.

Each decision you make should be made in a calculated manner so it’s not like you are blind to the situation.

Most importantly, just know that nothing happens overnight, so you just need to be patient and you will breakthrough!

Tip 2: Know Why You Are Here And What Your Goals Are

How can you achieve your dreams if you don’t even know what they are? Get a game plan

get a gameplan and take action towards your most important goals
Make Sure You Consistently Take Action Towards Your Goals

You want to first find your why and your purpose

(Follow the blog and youtube. Next week I walk you through steps by step on how to do just that.)

Find Your Unique Purpose

Start by asking yourself:

  • What do you love?
  • What do you shine the most in?
  • Out of anything in life, what makes you the happiest?
  • What do you want to accomplish, experience?
  • Define what success looks like to you?
  • What are your best qualities?
  • In what situation do your qualities shine the most in?

Tip 3: Give Up All Excuses – Give Yourself A Little Tough Love – Identify Why You Fell In Post Graduation Depression In The First Place

Stop blaming everything and everyone and realize that you need to take 100% responsibility for your life because you are the only one who can organize the life you want to have.

Stop Wasting Your Time, You Are Worth More!

Don’t complain and assume other people’s feelings and responses before even asking them; ask them why they are making a particular remark or why they are making a particular expression before just assuming the world is against you.

Being defensive and avoiding them is not going to help you, what is the worst-case scenario anyways? They could say “no” so that you can have closure and move on. Or, they could actually tell you what is wrong that way you can fix it.

Mainly when it comes to a professional environment, don’t complain that no one called you back. Assuming a million different scenarios like that “it must be because nowadays people demand too much” won’t help you.

Call them back and Follow up! if they say no, ASK WHY so that you can fix it. It could be something so simple!

Tip 4: Set Up A Structured Routine

time block your schedule and get a structured routine to make sure that you don't fall being busy instead of being productive after grad life.
Time Block Your Schedule

Just because you are not forced to show up somewhere, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a structured schedule. As a matter of fact, it is crucial to your success.

If you have no specific plan set up, it is much easier to get sidetracked and distracted from what you need to accomplish.

It would be beneficial for you to learn how to time block your day so that you can divide your time efficiently between:

  • Setting up meetings
  • Perfect your resume
  • Do some follow up calls
  • Drive to the company you applied to and “put a face to a name”
  • Perfect your interview skills
  • Perfect your interview outfits
  • Learn and get online certifications if applicable
  • To attend free seminars
  • Attend career fairs
  • Volunteer so that you can make a difference and possibly even network
  • Clean up your online presence

You always want to be a step ahead of the competition, really take this time to focus on yourself.

Tip 5: Practice confidence!!

Know what you want and understand your value in order to be prepared to define it.

  • Believe in yourself and your worth.
  • Accept and forgive yourself for the past
  • Be ready to welcome the new you
  • Maintain a level of positive expectancy
  • Act as if you already achieved what you want.

Remember that the way you react to a situation is the outcome of your successes and failures

These are just SOME of the things you can do to set yourself up for success and get out of feeling stuck when dealing with post graduation depression.

Are you 100% clear on what it is you are even meant for and want to do with your life? What is your passion?

What to do After School is Over | Tips for After College Life

Wondering what to do after school is over?

  • Is it supposed to take this long to try finding jobs after college even though you just graduated with a good degree?
  • Why am I not good enough?
  • What can I do to stop feeling I feel stuck and left behind?
  • Why is after college life so hard?

Did you ever ask yourself any of these questions? If so, this is for you!

Here are 6 Valuable Tips for you to Clarify What to do Once School is Over. Follow These Easy Tips to Skyrocket your Life After College in 2019/2020!

Wondering what to do after school is over? Stop feeling stuck and left behind, and get ready to take action towards achieving goals!

Stop Wondering What To Do After School Is Over

Tip 1: Find Your Purpose

Find your purpose and apply it to everything you decide to pursue even if you don't exactly know yet what to do after school is over
Find Happiness in Everything You Do

You want to find out what you are already good at and really hone in on your skills! Instead of giving too much attention to something you can eventually delegate to a third party while you focus on what you are good at.

If you can’t make your mind up on something specific, try thinking about some of these things.

  • Send a text to a family member or to a friend and ask; “What am I better than others at doing?”
  • Think about what all your friends come to you for, what advice are they asking you to pitch in on?
  • If the steps above don’t provide enough clarity for you, you can also take it a step further. You can find other resources online like, for example, taking a quiz on “Clifton strengths”

Tip 2: Clean up Your Life

What to do after school is over is going to need to be preceded by cleaning up your social media and personal branding online because otherwise it might ruin all the good efforts you are attempting to apply to your life.
How Do You Want Others to Perceive You?

Ask yourself, how do you want to be perceived by others? Make sure you focus your attention on your personal branding, not just online but in person as well.

Start by doing a social media clean up, work your way through all of your online presence. Next, make sure to remove toxic people in your life that might be holding you back from achieving goals.

Tip 3: Expectations vs Reality

Since everything up until now has been structured for you by either your family or professors; realize that learning time management is essential to your success.

You are now in charge of making your own; “syllabus”, “rules”, and “schedule”. Because if you don’t, more than likely your productivity won’t be at its highest.

Some of the most common myths and misconceptions are:

Expectations vs Reality is that people should automatically know what to do after school is over when really, like anything in life, it is something that needs to be learned.
You Are Right Where You Need to Be
  • Life gets easier after college
  • That you suddenly have your s*** together and that you will live happily ever after.

Turns out reality is a tad different from the fairy tale we have been told; don’t think that you are the only one going through this struggle and fall into post grad depression.

P.S. (If you are already experiencing post grad depression, make sure you follow the blog. Next week I will give you some tips on how to overcome it).

You want to work on your mindset and forget what other people expect of you. Be open to learning and set your own goals.

Try to connect with like-minded people and learn how to stop comparing yourself to others because it won’t help you.

If you found a job: Don’t be shy, ask questions, be open-minded, absorb new info, and rebuild your reputation.

No one knows you and no one is keeping tabs on you. So make sure to keep in your own lane and not get discouraged if you have to re-earn everyone’s respect since you are in a different environment.

Tip 4: Get Disciplined With Your Finances

Taking care of your finances is essential mainly while you are in limbo trying to figure out what to do after school is over because otherwise it is easy to fall into debt faster than you'd imagine.
Ask; Is This Worth Spending On?

It is essential that you gain control over spending, mainly if you are in between graduation and finding a job. After school is over it is crucial to come up with a gameplan before your student loans come due (if you have any).

Don’t waste money if you can save it. Learn how to cook at home, before you buy anything, ask yourself if it is a necessity and of extreme value to you. If you can wait, don’t buy it, pick and choose what is worth spending your money on.

Tip 5: Get a Structured Routine And Figure Out How To Still Keep Productive After School Is Over

Get organized, have a structured schedule, and even time block your day for specific tasks.

Tip 6: Go the Extra Mile on Your Resume

Make sure you optimize your resume and tailor it per each job. Try to include specific keywords that can be picked up by the software that filters it if it is not a person to read it.

How Will You Stand Out?

If possible, keep it results-oriented and to the point. If you don’t have work experience just include an internship or volunteer opportunity you might have participated in.

Also, remember to line up your references, and let them know prior to giving out their name and number; that way they will be ready to portray you in the best way possible.

You Got This!

Now that you know the main key points on what to do after graduation, you are probably wondering HOW to put some of these tips in action.

Don’t worry, because next week we will dig deeper and I will share a few steps by step tips on how to shift your mindset and set yourself up for success in order to avoid post grad depression

The Best Advice you Could Hear About Marketing

Today you will learn about the 3 types of media: owned, earned, and paid!

Wait…there are different types of media?

When you are a marketer, or when you are trying to set up your own marketing strategy, you have to know and understand the difference between these 3 types of media and how to mix and match them to get the perfect combination for success.

Here are the 3 types of media:

1. Owned media (web properties):

When I say owned media is any media that a company owns: such as a blog, a website, or any social media profile managed by that company. It is the content a brand created on their own.

  • Website
  • Blog site
  • Mobile site
  • Social media profiles

2. Earned media (shared content):

When we mention earned media, we are referring to what your audience is saying about your company, whether it is verbally or digitally. This type of media includes all the comments, content created by others about your brand, mentions, press, blog posts, or whatever is being published by your audience.

  • Shares
  • Mentions
  • Reposts

3. Paid media (marketing and advertising):

While paid media is obviously the type of media you pay for, like, commercials on TV, the press you paid for, the radio mentioning your brand because you paid them, digital marketing like pay per click, ads, and paid influencers social media advertising. This type of media is essentially the marketing that you are paying for.

  • Pay per click (PPC)
  • Google Adwords
  • Retargeting
  • Influencers
  • Content promotion
  • Social media ads

How should you use these 3 types of media and what is the winning recipe?

  1. When you combine owned and earned media – it helps you with SEO, sharing, and traffic.
  2. If you combine earned and paid media – it helps you to encourage your audience to share and engage when you run paid promotions.
  3. But if you combine paid and owned media – you will gain more exposure with SEO and PPC.

So, in order to have the winning recipe when it comes to your marketing strategy, one that really rewards you with a ton of traffic and client growth, you need to be able to work with all 3 types of media together.

The winning combination is …

Yes! All 3 of them, no shortcuts…

This will allow you to have access to a much wider reach than if you were to only pick one or the other.

marketing strategy, owned media, paid media, earned media, like know and trust, social media marketing, google ad words, social media ads, social media tips, social media platforms, social media influencer, drive traffic, social media advertisement

What’s your homework?

Try to come up with a plan that creates engaging content through owned media and focus on a target audience with paid media.

If you do this, you can increase the chance of your audience sharing your content because they now like, know, and trust you.

The Anatomy of Marketing – PART 2 – Metrics

Social media metrics

Ahhhh….metrics…gotta love ‘em!

You’re scratching your head thinking you did everything you possibly could to set up your business, your baby, and now nothing is happening. No sales, appointments, or consultations are heading your direction.

Why? What could possibly be going wrong? Is it the website, the social media, the product itself, the email campaigns? Well, the number one thing to be able to analyze the situation and be able to tell if you are doing a good job or not is to understand and measure your metrics.

In order to know when or how to take corrective action to a setup going horribly wrong, first you need to understand where the problem lies.

In social media, there are many metrics in order for you to know whether or not what you are doing is working.

Today we will be going over a few of the most common ones used in SMM:

this is the number of people that saw your brand’s post on social media.

the number of times a person tags your business on a social media post.

Social media ROI:

this is the measurement of the value you are getting from your SMM campaign. This is the calculation of profit divided by the total investment multiplied by 100.

this is the number of times that a company’s content was delivered to someone’s feed. (in this case, if the same person sees it multiple times, it counts it as many times as the number of times they saw it)

this is the likes, shares, comments and sometimes clicks. It pretty much measures the number of times a person interacted with your post.

Engagement rate:

this is the % of a brand’s audience that interacted with their content. (The calculation for this metric would be the number of engagements x  total reach).

this counts the number of people who have followed or liked your brand’s social media profile.

this counts the number of people that clicked on your post.

URL click:

this is how many times the person clicked on your CTA URL.

Cost per thousand or CPM:

this measures how much it costed you to reach 1,000 people.

CTA or Call to Action:

this refers to the part of your post that entices your audience to take action towards your end goal, like “Redeem Now”, “Register Today”, “Send me Coupon Now” etc.

There you have it, these are some of the most common metrics used in social media marketing.

Understanding what they mean and how to read them will allow you to get a better picture of which content is performing best or worst, that way you can customize your approach for more successful future content.
